Mother Nature gave planet Earth an atmosphere made of air but she never said that it is the ideal breathing mix for divers ! If used properly, breathing nitrox instead of air allows the diver to:

• increase minimum decompression time;
• reduce the duration of decompression stops;
• shorten surface intervals;
• reduce post-dive physiological stress.

Prerequisities:

To access the course PADI Nitrox Diver and make two dives with oxygen enriched air in the protected marine area of Portofino

• you must be certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification level;

Maximize the benefits of oxygen enriched air by taking the PADI Nitrox Diver course in combination with the PADI Deep Diver or the PADI Wreck Diver courses.

The PADI Nitrox Diver course at our center takes half a day, it includes two guided dives in the protected marine area of Portofino with oxygen-enriched air.

The course is divided into two parts:

• Konowledge Development
  Self-study of the digital version of the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox manual, to learn the basics of nitrox diving.
  
  
• Experience Dives
  2 guided dives in the Portofino marine protected area.
  After analyzing and correctly marking their tanks, the students take part in our morning dive trip together with an instructor.
  
  
• The meeting time at our center is at 8:00, the return to the port is expected around 13:00.

Our experience shows that the digital versions of the manual are preferable because they allow the student:

• to start to study at home at his own pace;
• to optimize the time with the instructor;
